In June of 2005, we launched Women That Soar. A year later I started thinking about all of my personal and professional challenges. I started thinking about the women who support me, women who believe in me and the vision and mission of Women That Soar. I began reflecting upon the journey of my life, and the bond I share and shared with close friends. I felt I needed to somehow honor women for their true authentic selves. Honor them for their trials, tribulations and triumphs. I wanted to thank them, celebrate them, and rejoice in their spirit.

After watching Oprah's Legends Ball I was inspired to create the Brilliantly You Awards. I decided I would honor women throughout the State of Texas who've paved the way. Women who've faced obstacles personally and professionally; yet soared to success. I would honor them for giving back and supporting the advancement of other women. I knew this wouldn't be easy. I didn't have the money or team to put my plan into action. Yet, I knew with my trust and faith in God, it would all work out.

In our first year with the enormous support from many, we honored women such as; Ebby Halliday, Carolyn Farb, First Lady Anita Perry, Kim Askew, Rene Syler, Gloria Campos, Nancy Lieberman and many, many more. It was an evening of joy, laughter, excitement and a true celebration!

What seemed to be such an overwhelming obstacle, turned out to be an evening I will always treasure. Creating Brilliantly You allowed me to make new friends, build relationships and find the brilliance within me. I had the opportunity to meet amazing women from all works of life and hear their stories of humble beginnings to reaching the pinnacle of their personal and professional success!

Brilliantly You is not just another awards event.  It is celebration!  It is about the journey of women. It is about each one teaching one. As we continue the Brilliantly You Celebration, it is more dream to grow and honor women around the world who've paved the way and challenged themselves and others.  It is my mission to turn Brilliantly You into a televised awards show for women.  As continue our annual event, I ask you to join us and experience the Brilliantly You Celebration!  This is one event you won't forget. It is a time to connect, share and bond with women who are legends in their on right.  It is a time to learn and experience the exact meaning of what being a Women Who Soar is all about.
