Is the former Acting Mayor of Dallas. She has served on many boards and committees to include, Co-chair – Homeland Security Task Force of the National League of Cities, and Regional Chair - Homeland Security Committee of North Texas Council of Government.

She served as Dallas City Council Member - District 9, Advisory Council of the National League of Cities, Board of Directors of the National League of Cities, Vice-Chair of National League of Cities Transportation and Communications Committee.

She is President of Mary Poss & Associates, which she managed consultant projects for various clients including Texas Instruments, Billingsley Co., and others. She has been married for 33 years.
